The Children's Festival of the DESECE began in 2010, aiming at the opening of the university towards the local community and strengthening bonds between the children, the teachers, the parents, the kindergartens, the university students and the university. It is held annually for one week (late May - early June) and its activities, with primarily an educational focus, take place on the premises of the Department.
After 13 years of continuous annual organization, 10,000 children participated in creative workshops, while approximately 1,000 students had the opportunity to experiment and put into practice what they were taught, to cooperate with each other and take responsibility, creating a "community of cooperation" ».
Responsible for the coordination of the festival is the Organising Committee, composed of students and one university teacher. However, the students of DESECE play the most important role, since they are the ones who voluntarily carry out the actions of the festival and ensure its impeccable conduct.
Since 2016 graduates from DESECE organise their own festival, the Vegera fest,in Falatadhos of Tinos, Cyclades!
